A successful start...
The sixth grade class is adjusting well to life as middle school students. They quickly adapted to teacher expectations and tackle challenging assignments in and out of the classroom. In Ms. Scheiber's religion class, they decorated signs to commemorate the World Day of Prayer for Care of Creation (September 1). In Individuals and Societies, the sixth grade students completed their first in-class essay focusing on early mankind. Then, using techniques learned from the hominids, they created original cave paintings about their lives in 2015. We are very proud of the sixth grade class!
This week, the eighth grade class welcomed Fr. Larry to our religion class. Together, they read the Gospel and planned the homily, which focused on welcoming new members to a community. As a class, the students wrote petitions and assigned parts for the Mass. We were delighted to see many eighth grade parents at the Mass!
Back to School Night is on Thursday, September 10 at 6:30 pm. We will begin our night in the Church before moving to the music room on the 3rd floor for presentations on middle school policies. There will be only one middle school session, so visit this room first! Please plan to attend this night to pick up MYP course syllabi and welcome our new staff members.
Enjoy the holiday weekend! We look forward to seeing all of the students on Tuesday!
