BASKETBALL- The unit that we have all been waiting for! We focused on basic skills such as dribbling and passing. We also used our concentration skills and hand eye coordination to dribble two mini basketballs at the same time while walking. Excellent job junior high! Fractions in action. 6th grade explored equivalent fractions with fraction tiles this week in math. Fraction tiles are the perfect visual and kinesthetic tool for us to see how a combination of fractions can be equivalent. Students loved the hands on exploration during class! Student Voice met this week to discuss a multitude of upcoming events. They noticed that a big issue among junior high students is stress and anxiety. Therefore, their goal for the year is to help combat that issue in all of their events. They have some exciting things planned, stay tuned! 8th grade reviewed compound inequalities this week prior to their quiz. To do so, they worked in pairs to solve problems. Once they found the answer, they graphed them and matched it to the correct interval notation. This was no easy task, but students took their time and communicated with their partners to answer all the questions! Looking Ahead...
