It''s New Year's eve at the end of the decade, and you are listening to the radio play the Top 100 songs before the ball drops. We've all done it right? The seventh and eighth graders have been listening to and learning about popular music throughout the decades and how the songs of those decades affected history and culture. Students were split into groups and asked to choose a decade between the 1930's and the 2000's. Each group is working to create a radio broadcast that will include the top three songs of the decade along with at least three of the most famous news stores from that decade. They have been asked to use their creativity and use appropriate language and style from each decade. Some groups are even including weather reports from their decade and creative commercials featuring popular foods, toys. The classes will present their broadcasts on October 11th in class.
