Seventh graders engaged in a fishbowl discussion around themes they extracted from The Outsiders. In particular, they discussed how, throughout history, groups have made other groups "the others" or "the outsiders" in an attempt to assert power or dominance. They did a great job of speaking articulately and bringing up relevant content to add to the ideas of their peers. 8th graders are working on their Summative Assessment for Spanish. We are working in groups of 2-3 to create a Spanish game that can be continuously used to learn and practice Spanish verbs. They can be digital or physical games, and we're looking forward to seeing what they produce! Bring the heat! 6th graders wrote their own experiments to test the effects of heat from the sun on Earth's surfaces. They used sand and water to represent Earth's different surfaces and a heat lamp or flashlights to represent heat from the sun. Each group came up with a different way to test their hypotheses. Their procedure writing skills and their work with defining variables keeps on improving! "Dancing with Class" continued for the sixth graders this week. They danced their way through the merengue and added a little flair to the steps they learned last week. This week, students lined up to learn how to swing dance! These steps proved to be a little more difficult, but with a little more practice and help from Mr. Scott we know that our students will improve in no time! Looking ahead...
