It was a short week at St. Matthias, but examples of leadership abound!
8th Grade has begun the first phase of the MYP Community projects, where students will create and complete research-based service projects and reflect on the meaning and impact of their work. Students are beginning to focus their questions and research, and are starting to meet with their teacher-advisers. Stay tuned for exciting news on how their projects are coming along and how you can support them!
Student Council has been working hard behind the scenes, and this week led an effort to fund-raise with a fall themed dress down. They will be using this money to support Apple Cider Sales in the immediate future!
Math played variations of Bingo based on our content this week. 6th grade played orders of operation Bingo and 7th grade played single step equation Bingo. Both times students changed the winning phrase to “Lyneo!” Their creativity and fun was definitely a highlight for Ms. Lyne and students this week in Math!
6th Grade also showed leadership this week as our mass leaders. The reflected on different aspects of the past and future to generate their petitions in preparation, and showed excellent public speaking skills this morning.
